History

Mary Reid trained under the beauty legend Elizabeth Arden and was the Manager of her prestigeous New York Salon. The Mary Reid International School of Beauty was founded in 1954 by her in Edinburgh.

Since then, it has established a global reputation for the training of first class beauty therapists. In 1978, after Mary Reid's retirement, the school was taken over by Joan Stewart, one of Mary's first Students. Mrs Stewart remained the Principal of the school until her retirement in 2009 when Brian Hunter became the owner and Principal. With the new owner came a new name, The Mary Reid International Spa Academy 

In the last five decades, the Academy has become recognised throughout the world as one of the very best places for beauty students to learn, this commitment to excellence and the emphasis on maintaining the highest standards of training will ensure that the long term strategy to become the UK's leading supplier of highly trained Spa Professionals to the rapidly evolving global Spa Industry will be achieved.
