First SpaTRAINER™ Workshop in the UK

Mary Reid International Spa Academy in Edinburgh, Scotland and Urban Healing Company are pleased to announce the launch of the first Spa Trainer Workshops.

SpaTRAINER™ is an intensive four-day Train-the-Trainer workshop specifically developed for fitness, spa and product house trainers. Research conducted by Urban Healing Company within the spa and beauty industry concluded that providing trainers with effective group training skills was considered critical for the success of a spa.

SpaTRAINER™ is designed to provide you and your trainers  with a structured approach to designing, delivering and evaluating interactive training sessions for both individuals and groups in your spa, fitness or wellness centre.

This exciting new workshop provides a robust learning experience and interesting insights into what truly effective training looks, sounds and feels like.

Some of the key topics of the workshop include:

• Creating wellness for trainers and learners
• Psychology of learning in a spa and wellness environment – creating multi sensory training 
• Designing brain friendly spa training sessions that gain attention, train the task and check understanding 
• Structuring session plans, handouts and visuals to support your training 
• Creating impact through what you say and do 
• Increasing participation through question technique, group exercises, icebreakers, energisers and music 
• Adapting soft skills and technical training for one to one and group training 
• Training and measuring intangibles such as intention, presence, flow and energy 
• Assessing and recording performance and providing trainees with constructive feedback, 
• Improving performance through corrective coaching 
• Strategies for handling challenging situations

To ensure a high level of quality and individual attention, we have restricted the number of participans to six and we conduct the workshop with two trainers.

Successful graduates of a specially developed post course project have the opportunity to be assessed and awarded the Group Training Certificate from People 1st, the British Sector Skills Council for the hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism industry.
